The 42nd edition of Seafood Expo North America 2024, one of the largest seafood events in North America was underway from 10 to 12 March in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A.
A huge area of 244,965 net square feet of exhibit space was allotted as reported by event organizer Diversified Communications. The growth trajectory has been set in motion last year as the show increased by 25 percent in size this year.
The 2024 conference program featured more than 30 educational sessions, presented by top seafood industry experts. This focus on this year’s conference program included the following topics:
• Aquaculture
• Artificial Intelligence
• Consumer Trends
• Corporate Social Responsibility
• Food Safety & Compliance (policy)
• Seafood Business & Leadership
• Seafood Sustainability
• Traceability & Transparency
Diversified Communications Vice President of Seafood Wynter Courmont said in a release that “The presence of exhibitors from more than 45 countries in the exhibit hall demonstrates the significance of the North American market on the seafood industry at large,” He added that “Countries including Norway, the U.K., Ecuador and Chile have increased their presence at this year’s event, and we are excited to welcome new exhibitors from countries including Azerbaijan, Malaysia, Mauritania, and Myanmar.”
This year featured “New experiential areas” with ample opportunities for attendees to network with other members of the industry such as:
• The “Wave Makers’ Zone,” with a full schedule of events – including the New Product Showcase and Featured Product Showcase,
• The Seafood Excellence Awards,
• The Oyster Shucking Competition,
• Chef demonstrations,
• Live podcast interviews,
• Sampling opportunities,
These were some of the new features this year. Exhibitors this year from emerging start ups to legacy brands highlighted innovations in multiple areas of the industry, including sustainability and aquaculture.
