The new Global Shrimp Council (GSC) was founded with the goal of popularizing and improving shrimp consumption all across the major shrimp world markets.
The GSC was officially launched under the banner of United States of America’s National Fisheries Institute (NFI) and the pioneering support from 20 different companies from India, Ecuador, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Honduras, Mexico, Guatemala, Venezuela and Srilanka.
The main objective of the council is to bring about significant results in increasing the global consumption of shrimp. The council is all set to reach their goals through collaboration, education and inspiration.
Gabriel Luna of Glunashrimp, David Castro of Mexico based Mantabay, Sandro Coglitore of Ecuadorian shrimp company Omarsa, Rajagopal Chitturi of India’s Devi Fisheries and consultant of the successful Avocado marketing campaign Miguel Barcenas unianimously expressed gratitude and confidence in achieving the council’s goals.
Lisa Picard the President and CEO of NFI expressed pride and passion to bring about the desired results of the GSC through collaborative efforts.
